With the fondue

A first course or an appetizer is not really traditional with cheese fondue. The scent of fondue being prepared should suffice. But a first small glass of white wine is quite appropriate (do not forget the cook).

If you must, a plate of dried meat, salami or prosciutto will do.

Avoid pickles and small onions in vinegar as they are rather reserved for raclette.
